The Markets

Stocks gained on Thursday as investors reacted positively to news that a deal to extend the debt limit to December had been achieved.  The S&P 500 Index gained just over eight-tenths of one percent, closing at short-term resistance at the 20-day moving average.  Resistance around the 50-day moving average at 4438 was tested at the highs of the session.  Momentum indicators have started to curl higher in what could amount to an imminent buy signal according to MACD.  So far, the market is reacting according to plans and we are befitting in our portfolio that has been fully allocated to stocks as of the end of September, but we do have to realize that there could be choppy waters though the month of October.  We have taken advantage of the opportunities that were presented to us as of the end of September (and we hope you did too), but we are always prepared to react should things change, as is the case with the fundamental backdrop for Natural Gas.  More on that later in our report to subscribers.
