The Markets
Stocks drifted higher on Wednesday as the bulls were able to rally the troops to defend intermediate support at the rising 50-day moving average. The S&P 500 Index gained just over eight-tenths of one percent, bouncing from support at the aforementioned hurdle. Short-term resistance at the 20-day moving average at 4485 remained intact, presenting the battle ground between the bulls and the bears between the two variable lines.
